Having been in the exact situation, I can tell you there are bottles of Scotch on the other side. Also Sys admins are living the hell as well.

I always thought Network Admins were System Admins who got a promotion so they can do the work of two people.

In small companies maybe, bigger infrastructure net admins handle IP tables, firewalls ect. Sys admins handle server maintenance/install, monitoring, app deployments etc.

Yeah, this was a one man operation. I got to help install payphones. Where are you gonna get that kind of work experience these days.
